AZ Spotlight - April Horned

Sat, 09/01/2018 - 19:44

AZ Spotlight is a platform to learn more about fellow Arizona CPCU’s and spotlight their achievements within our chapter and throughout the insurance industry!

Meet our AZ Spotlight April Horned!

April is actively involved in our chapter as the special events director.

We caught up with April for a short interview...

Where do you work and what’s your current role?

  • I have worked with Low & Johnson Insurance Agency for the past 16 ½ years and our agency was recently acquired by NFP Property & Casualty Insurance Services. My current role is a commercial lines producer which I absolutely love

In what ways has the CPCU designation/society made an impact in your professional/personal life?

  • The CPCU designation and society have really helped me to grow professionally and has introduced me to so many wonderful insurance professionals. Each monthly luncheon is a great learning experience with our amazing speakers and has allowed me to get to know so many of our members. Chairing the golf tournament has helped me gain experience in fundraising and public speaking – I loved when you all sang Happy Birthday to me this past year, LOL. Thank you

What are some ideas to engage, retain, and grow the AZ CPCU chapter?

  • I think expanding our community involvement, social and educational events will help to keep our members interested and engaged and will help bring in new members.  By partnering with other local insurance organizations we can round out the needs of our members and affiliates. Doing more community service projects will help us gain more recognition and awareness of our excellent local chapter.

What’s a fun fact about yourself?

  • A fun fact about myself is that I really like making people smile and laugh. I will joke around with anyone and I have fun meeting new people.

How can we stay up to date with you and your career?

  • You can stay up to date with all my happenings at #IMAWESOME - haha, just kidding, feel free to reach me on LinkedIn. Thank you for the AZ Spotlight!
