AZ CPCU Chapter in the Community!

Thu, 04/12/2018 - 16:25

Each year we choose a company/charity to partner with that’s making a positive impact in our community and beyond!

For 2018 we have decided to partner with Junior Achievement of Arizona. For the last 60 years, Junior Achievement of Arizona (JA) has been empowering the futures of millions of Arizona students by giving them the knowledge and skills they need to manage their money, plan for their future, and make smart academic, career and economic choices. Delivered by 9,500 business and community volunteer mentors, their hands-on, age-appropriate programs focus on three key areas: financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Junior Achievement of Arizona is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization wholly dependent on the financial and volunteer support of individuals, foundations and businesses.

How you can get involved

We are seeking volunteers to participate in Junior Achievement Day, being held on May 15th & May 16th.  This is an in-classroom program where volunteers teach the students. All programs are developed by experts, and are designed to keep kids engaged at their level of understanding.  JA will train you, give you the lessons & materials needed, and support you along the way. You show up, teach the lessons and share your personal experience with students.

Up to 10 volunteers are needed for each day. Volunteers will have to attend training prior to the event. The training will provide materials needed for each lesson and all training will take place at the JA office at 636 W. Southern, Tempe, AZ 85282.
