I am honored to serve you as President for the chapter in 2021. In some regards, this year seems like an extension of 2020 just with new dates: We are still in a virtual or hybrid work environment; masks are as normal as socks in our wardrobe and there is caution of spreading Covid-19 to our friends and family. I challenge you to set aside this thought process with a view of 2021 as a fresh start and new beginning. Your 2021 chapter board has new events, restructured programs and speakers from across state lines to bring you the best content we can. Our board welcomed five new members which you can meet on the Chapter website and this newsletter. We also welcomed a new Director of Diversity and Inclusion this year.
January’s meeting kicked off a Wellness discussion reminding ourselves that “We” are liabilities if we don’t practice self-care (click here for meeting slides or to view a recording! Recording password is rMYs7iNG). Our first virtual fundraising event is set for February 6th with Tempe’s own, Wild Hare Distillery. February will also start our new Mentoring Circles program with Victor Foggie and March is Ethics month with a presentation from our fellow CPCUs from Fire Cause Analysis based in California.
We are taking full advantage of our virtual environment but need your help. Did you know we are on all of the major social media platforms? We ask that you connect with our chapter:
We post weekly messages, upcoming events and look for your feedback on how to better serve the chapter.
I look forward to connecting with everyone and seeing you via WebEx at our events.
